Obituary of Meg Evans Torgerson

– Meg Hutchison Torgerson passed away on Nov. 30, 2024. Meg was born in San Luis Obispo to Bill and Carol Hutchison. She lived her whole life in San Luis Obispo County. She attended Sinsheimer and Los Ranchos Elementary Schools and San Luis Jr. High School. She graduated from San Luis Obispo High School in 1980.

She was active in Camp Fire and loved to spend her summers at Camp Natoma. During her junior and senior high school years, she was active in Rainbow Girls, a Masonic youth organization. After high school, Meg started working in the wine industry. She worked for Martin Brothers and Castoro Cellars Wineries for a number of years. She then went to work for J&L Wines where she was employed for 19 years. She was active in the California Mid-State Fair Heritage Foundation and the Far West Water Ski Club.

Meg was predeceased by her father, Bill Hutchison, and her brother, John Hutchison. She is survived by her mother, Carol Hutchison; her husband, Michael Torgerson; sister, Pat Trunzo (Tony) of Park City, Utah; stepchildren, Avery, MJ, and Dakota Torgerson; and nephews, Will and Anthony Trunzo.
