Linda Mena Garcia.
– Linda Mena Garcia was born on March 20, 1936, in the warm lands of New Mexico, and peacefully departed this life surrounded by her family on December 28, 2024, at the age of 88, in Paso Robles. Linda’s presence in this world was marked by love, resilience, and an unyielding spirit that touched the lives of all who knew her.
Life’s journey took an unexpected turn for Linda when she became handicapped. Yet this challenge was no match for her indomitable spirit. Linda poured her energies into building a nurturing home, a sanctuary filled with warmth and laughter, traits deeply imbued in her character. Married to her beloved Ernest for an incredible 69 years, she found her greatest joy in the family they raised together, including her cherished daughters Shirley, Rachel, and Gloria. Though predeceased by her daughter Rachel, her spirit lived on in the memories and moments they shared, and the grandchildren Rachel left behind.
Linda’s home was the heart of many joyous gatherings, especially during the major holidays, when her love of music, and cooking, brought warmth and cheer to her family. Linda enjoyed traveling with her husband, and two of their favorite places was Laughlin, Nevada, where she loved to play slots in company of her surviving sister Mary Mena. Ernest and Linda traveled across the United States by car, visiting as many landmarks in as many states as possible.
She leaves behind numerous grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and will be missed by all who knew her. Rest in Peace knowing you are loved.
Services will be held Friday, Jan. 31, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Solitude Church in Soledad, Calif.
