Obituary for Ellsworth Alfred Warner Jr.

–Ellsworth Alfred Warner Jr. passed away at his home in Paso Robles on May 12 after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by his family. Fred or Freddy, as he was called by his closest friends, was born on May 26, 1948 in Paso Robles, CA.

He grew up in Paso, graduating from Paso Robles High School in 1966, and was Bearcat Proud all of his life. He completed his education at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, and enjoyed a career in sales for most of his working life. Fred was an avid sports fanatic, playing sports throughout grade school and high school, and participated in intramural softball and tennis, up until his body prevented him from being competitive. Even then, he would frequent sidelines to support his friends, or harass them as they will tell you. He competed at the World Senior Games every year he could, and held a few medals that he boasted proudly in his home. He loved the warmth, sunshine, and outdoors, and enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, waterskiing, and traveling. He has hunted all over the Central Coast and was blessed to have traveled the world hunting with his closest friends and his son, Ells. His pride and joy was his family, and he would viciously protect them at all costs. He would help anyone in need, as long as it was reciprocated with friendship and appreciation. He epitomized the phrase “Living The Dream”, and defined “Live life to the fullest”.

Fred is survived by his 1st wife Renee’ Warner; 2nd wife Catherine Warner; children Ellsworth Alfred Warner, III (Jessie); Grace Warner (Greg); Eric Jones; Wes Powell; and Katrina Macari (John); as well as 10 Grandchildren & 8 Great-Grandchildren. He is sorely missed by his family and closest friends. In typical Ellsworth fashion, we will be holding a Celebration of Life at a future date.

Obituary of Cathleen Quint Clemons McIntosh, 1955 – 2020

$
0
0

–Cathleen Quint Clemons McIntosh, 65, completed her earthly race on July 19, 2020 in her home in San Miguel, CA.

Cathy, affectionately as “Catmom,” born on April 29, 1955, in San Francisco, CA. Her parents relocated to Orcutt, CA where she attended Righetti High School, graduating in 1973. Later she went on to attend Allan Hancock College.

In 1986 Cathy began working at Camp San Luis Obispo as a Civilian Finance Clerk and worked her way up to become the Civilian Finance Supervisor before she retired in 2013.

Cathy was very active in her community, a member of a Paso Robles Wine Club where she learned how to make wine and entered them into the Paso Robles Fair. As a member of the Gold Country Explorers, she learned how to pan for gold and collected rocks to polish for jewelry and craft projects. Cathy also loved to quilt and would always have one crafting project or another in progress (sometimes two or three at the same time). She was an outdoors person who loved to work in her yard growing beautiful plants and gardening, playing and caring for her cats and dogs, going to yard sales, or having one herself.

Family and friendships were very important to Cathy. No matter who she met, she always looked for the good in that person. She would give you the blouse off her back if she felt that you needed it or help you in any way that she could. Birthdays and holidays were very important to Cathy. She always made sure that you received a card from her on your birthday and any other occasion that pertained to anyone in her life.

In 1998 Cathy met Dennis McIntosh. On March 17, 2001, they were married and lived happily in Paso Robles, CA until his death in 2017.

It was Sunday, July 19, 2020, when the voice of God spoke, Cathy’s new residence was ready in the mansion of heaven, far above where she had to leave behind those she knew and loved – it was relocation time.

Mother of three children: Billy Clemmons (San Miguel, CA), Melissa and Stan Whiting (Nipomo, CA) William and Iryna McIntosh (Portland, OR); Grandmother to two: Charlotte and Veronica; her brother Clayton along with a host of relatives and friends.

A poem for Cathy:

When God saw you getting tired, and a cure was not to be
He put his arms around you and whispered come to me
He didn’t like what you went through
And he gave you rest
His garden must be beautiful, he only takes the best
And when we saw you sleeping, so peaceful and free from pain
We wouldn’t wish you back to suffer that again
Today we say goodbye, and as you take your final rest
That garden must be beautiful, because you are one of the best

Obituary for Sarah Murphy

Sarah Murphy.

–Our beautiful daughter Sarah passed away a week ago Sunday evening. She died from an accidental overdose while living at a sober living house in Santa Rosa California. She had been battling addiction for 9 years. Sarah was a beautiful and intelligent young woman. She had a great sense of humor and a warm loving smile. She lit up any room she entered with goodwill and a kind heart.

She was a talented artist who was inspired by the beautiful coast of California which was prevalent in her paintings. She was an awesome baker and enjoyed cooking. She played soccer and volleyball in school. She was a rock collector who loved to hike and explore. She loved no place more than Big Sur. Her love for children was reflected by the deep love given to her from her nephew Bradley.

She gave of herself to everyone she met in big ways and small, a smile, a helping hand, or a reassuring hug. Her addiction took so much from her. It took her desire to do the things she loved. It took her ability to show her love. It took her smile. It took her sparkle. It took her sense of humor. It took and took and took until it took her life.

When Sarah was 16 she had to have surgery to remove a large growth under her arm. She was prescribed an opiate pain killer. It triggered in her brain an unrelenting craving that ultimately took her life. She had been through 5 different rehabs over the course of the last 9 years. Outpatient therapy, detox centers, AA meetings all in hopes of breaking that awful grip that stole her soul and took her ability to live the life she should have had. Sarah had just finished a 2-month stay at a place called Olympia house in Santa Rosa. It’s a rehab place where you are closely monitored, counseled while living with others dealing with similar problems.

Once the insurance runs out your next best option is sober living. She found one that she really liked. There is much more freedom and but still group meetings and a house manager who tests residents for drug or alcohol use. She had been there about three weeks before she died. The week before she died, she was allowed an overnight visit and came home. It was so nice to see her in her true self. Before she left, we hugged and she hugged me so tight. The next week she seemed to be struggling. We were in close contact with her. She had a string of bad days. Mid-week she texted me that she was so grateful for me. We were a little concerned but that is a constant when dealing with this problem. On Sunday at midnight, our phone rang and it was the manager of her sober living house. He said Sarah was at the hospital. We called the hospital and they said there was no one there under her name. My wife who works in a hospital knew that meant she was dead. We confirmed it soon after.

When people say I can’t imagine the pain and sadness you must feel it’s true. I could never have imagined it. It’s a numbness that’s constant and a physical pain in the chest that comes in waves and makes you understand the meaning of a broken heart. You cry often sometimes a whimper other times uncontrollably not sure when or if it will end. Today after a week of funeral home visits, graveyard visits, picking out final clothes for Sarah and hours going through 100’s of photos for a tribute to her we had a viewing of her just my wife and I and daughter Amy.

The COVID requirements are such that only use three were allowed to attend. I had dreaded it. One of the craziest things is the mind’s inability to believe that it’s really true, that she’s really dead. It keeps entering your mind from the first moment you hear the dreadful news. To see her today lying there so still, eyes closed, cold to the touch was the most difficult thing I’ve ever had to do. We stayed there for four hours crying, reminiscing, laughing, playing music on our phones wondering why and often still not believing it was true.

I’m going to miss her so badly. She was my best friend as well as my daughter. We enjoyed each other’s company. We’ve been through some really tough times together and also had so many great times together. She was a great traveling companion. She could make me laugh and I would always try to do the same to her. Her laugh was legendary.

Sarah was a peaceful, loving child. At her elementary school she was chosen by her peers to receive their highest award the Fruit of the Spirit Award two years in row. It was for Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, and Gentleness. No one had ever won it two times before. It has been reassuring through comments on her Facebook site from people that she has met on her journey those qualities were recognized by all she met. They typically say: amazingly kind sweet soul, helped me, put a smile on my face, one of my best friends, blessed to have had her in my life.

I’m struggling with how to wrap this up. I think I would ask that you reserve judgment on those you may see struggling through life be it family members or strangers you encounter in your daily life. Until you know the whole story of someone you cannot truly know their heart. I would also like to say that you should never let an opportunity to tell those you love how much you love them. Hug them long and hard, make them laugh when you can, and treasure each moment with them. That said, we love you all family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Aug. 15 at 10 a.m. at the Willow Creek Mennonite Cemetery on Vineyard Drive, across the street from Opolo Vineyard 7110 Vineyard Drive, Paso Robles, California.

He is survived by his parents, Thelma Coleman and Christopher Coleman. He was preceded in death by his biological father, Samuel Stovall, who he learned about when he was 27 years old. He was married to his wife, Karen Coleman for 22 years and resided in Paso Robles, CA, with their 3 daughters, Lynnetta Sanaia (FL), Karina Brockman (Il), Carma Audi Coleman, as well as his step-daughters, Brianna and Clarice Wilson. He was a grandfather who always enjoyed hearing from his four grandchildren in Florida, Malachi Coleman, Kimora and Athena Freire, and Lorenzo Sanaia. Robbie will also be missed by his surviving siblings, Michelle Coleman, Christopher Coleman lll, and (Brittany…Lil Ada), as well as Stanley, Karla, and Katrina Stovall.

Robbie loved his family very much and his treasured dog, Warrior. He loved his girls more than anything in this world. Loved talking to his mom who he loved dearly and leaned on the most. He seemed to bug the heck out of his daughters as to teach them to not to take some matters in life so seriously, along with other life lessons. He loved sports and even worked as an assistant sports equipment manager in the mid 90s to early 2000s, for Cal Poly SLO, especially during Mustang Football Season. He highly encouraged his daughters what sports teams to love, Dodgers and Raiders. (They do to this day). He always enjoyed doing things for others before doing for himself, (like building the family home).

He will be remembered, never forgotten, and forever loved by all who knew him.
