

Obituary of David Muniz.
Feb. 16, 1953 – May 28, 2025

San Miguel, California – David Muniz, born February 16, 1953, passed away on May 28, 2025, age 72.
David was born in Michoacan and at the age of 6 moved to Sinaloa. He was the oldest of 12 siblings. From a young age, he worked on his father’s farm, caring for the crops and livestock. At the age of 16, he migrated to the US and worked in the valley as a field hand. Throughout the next 24 years, David would travel from Mexico to the US for seasonal work. During this time, he met and married his wife Audelia Muniz and later had four children in Mexico.
In 1993, David moved his family to the US to provide his children a better life. After moving to the US, David and Audelia had their final child. David enjoyed fishing and playing dominoes, but nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his family. He was a joyful grandfather who always had candy hidden in his pocket for his grandchildren.
He was known as David by his wife and friends, Apá by his children, and Pa Vi by his grandchildren. He will be remembered as a great husband, brother, father, and grandfather through his family.
Should you wish to pay your respects to David, the family will hold a private service. A rosary will be held on June 19, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Kuehl-Nicolay Funeral Home,1703 Spring Street, Paso Robles. A mass will be held the following day at 11:00 a.m. at San Miguel Mission de Arcangel, with a burial service following afterwards.
David is survived by his wife Audelia Muniz of 47 years, as well as his 5 children and 15 grandchildren.
